Hi Happy new year! We are kicking off 2023 in Los Angeles where we just arrived for our annual winter escape. We're thrilled to be soaking up the sun, spending time with Kaitlin's family, and catching up on the always exciting L.A. restaurant scene. 2022 is behind us and we are looking forward to a new year. But before we fully embrace 2023, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on last year. The ups, the downs – and, most importantly, the dishes that got us through it all. That’s right, our annual list is out! Scroll down to see our Top 25 Best Dishes of 2022.
Is Noma Closing?!
2023 is already off to quite the momentous start with Noma's announcement yesterday. Although Noma won't be completely shuttering its doors (as some news outlets implied), it will still be the end of an era in Copenhagen's culinary scene. Close followers of Noma weren't surprised by this news, as it was first announced last summer on Noma's Instagram. In fact, it was originally stated that 2023 would be the "last year of Noma as we know it." Now, diners have an extra year to snag that coveted reservation, as the restaurant will be closing to change concepts at the end of 2024. What will the next chapter of Noma hold? While the future of Noma 3.0 is not yet entirely defined, Redzepi stated that the team will pivot their focus towards Noma Projects, and the current venue will house a bigger lab and test kitchen for further food research. For the next two years (the last of Noma 2.0), reservations will be harder than ever to secure – see below for our best booking tips. New year, new Hungries events! Copenhagen Hungries kicked off the year with a special family-style dinner at the newly opened restaurant Saji. Next month, take your tastebuds on a trip to Italy with the Caribbean Housewife's Italian Dinner. March will bring a whole lot of bubbles, when the Thirsties take over Champagnekælderen for a Champagne & oyster bonanza! Limited spots left!
