Hello from the Husas! Yup, it's official – we're married! We're still floating on a cloud of newlywedded bliss, but, of course, food is always on our minds... Our wedding was all about food (we'll be sharing lots more from this special day soon!) and we just got back from a short "foodiemoon" in Stockholm. We've updated our guide to the best restaurants in Sweden's capital – with nine new additions to our map! Keep scrolling to read it.

RUMORS & FOOD NEWS – JULY 2024

With the wedding diet behind us, we're back out eating in Copenhagen. (What a delicious city we call home!) Of course we visited the new Alouette 2.0 on opening day – head to the Hungries forum to read our first impressions of the new space. Recently we were also blown away by Bar Vitrine, a pop-up that will become a permanent restaurant on Møntergade 5 in August. The restaurant is a collaboration between Riccardo Marcon (owner of Barabba and Propaganda) and Niels Strøyer Christophersen (the owner of Frama), with Dhriti Arora (a former chef at Noma) as head chef. In Stockholm, the Swedish government has decided to renovate the building housing Operakällaren, so it will be closed for a while. Chef Viktor Westerlind decided to take the opportunity to open his own restaurant, which he hopes will open in September 2025. And Björn Frantzén is hinting on Instagram about opening another restaurant in central Stockholm...

And so much is happening in Oslo these days! Skovveien Bar & Pizza opened (to rave reviews from The Hungries) in June in the former Bokbacka/Hedone space. Another newcomer getting a lot of buzz is Hernandez, serving Basque cheesecake and specialty coffee. There's also a new bar, Bar Voyage, in the former Aku Aku space from people behind Bar Boca, Fat City, Albatross, and Papa Borracho. Still on the horizon? The opening of Fan, yet another restaurant from Björn Svensson, slated to open mid August. The name means “faen” in Swedish, as in “fuck” which is a reference to the fact that he’s opening a new restaurant once again.

COPENHAGEN EVENTS

Things are heating up in Copenhagen this summer. On July 13th, The Hungries are off to Contento for a delicious night of Basque food and drinks. And that's not all – The Hungries are headed to Holy Smoke Barbecue in Sweden on not one, not two, but THREE separate trips this summer. On August 24th, the Copenhagen Hungries will be having a pizza party at Surt, with special, off-menu pizzas! And on September 7th, we're having a return of one of our most popular events: a caviar tasting and masterclass with Rossini Caviar at Bistro Boheme. All you can bump!!

OSLO EVENTS

In Oslo, the Hungries will enjoy a Nordic tasting menu and wine pairing at one of the newer spots in town, Liminal, on August 28th. More Oslo events to be announced soon!

SAN FRANCISCO EVENTS

The next San Francisco event will be a family-style Korean barbecue feast at Michelin-starred San Ho Won on July 26th. Grab your friends and grab your spot on the forum to join the fun – one spot left!
