Westmarket is the latest food market to open in Copenhagen, and also the largest in Denmark. The combined food court and market is situated in Vesterbrogade 97, and aims to be a competitor to Torvehallerne at Nørrebro – but in the Vesterbro district. Unlike Torvehallerne, everything is gathered under one roof: various stands with street food from all over the world, a pizzeria, a tapas bar, and a risotto bar (called Ris8 – clever, huh?), as well as chocolate-, beer-, and wine stores. Magnus Petersson, with his experience from Aamanns, opens “Selma”– a Scandinavian sandwich bar. Henrik Yde (Kiin Kiin, Bao Bao, Veve) will offer a takeaway version of his Thai kitchen. Duck it wants you to “duck it!” and cram more duck sandwiches down your throat – both burgers and sliders. The super trendy Taiwanese gua bao gets its own stand, of course, called Super Bao. Fiskur makes Icelandic specialties with seafood. If you’re rather up for a drink you can enjoy gin-based cocktails at Two Socks, or pre-made cocktails on tap at Arnes Bottleshop & Bar.
Opens January 26th in Copenhagen
