Hello from sunny Los Angeles where we have escaped for the winter. As is our annual tradition, we're spending time with Kaitlin's family and checking out the city's hottest new restaurants. Stay tuned for an updated L.A. map, as well as YouTube videos from top fine dining destinations like, the newly reopened Somni.

We spent a month in Norway during the holidays. Not only did we do a big update to our Oslo map, but we also recently updated our Stavanger map with a few new additions. We’re always trying to keep our guides as up to date as possible, featuring the city’s best restaurants. Happy eating!

RUMORS & FOOD NEWS – FEBRUARY 2025

Fastelavnsbolle season is in full force – but that's not all that's happening in Copenhagen. A new restaurant is opening in the former Kokkeriet space: Démodé. It will be a Southern France-inspired eatery from chef Rasmus Grønbech. Goldfinch has launched a weekend lunch with a new menu. Donda has officially closed, but also re-opened as Khana – a South Asian seafood eatery. Connection by Alan Bates is closing as we know it – Bates will become the new head chef at Henne Kirkeby Kro in Henne. Vietnamese restaurant Lua also closed at the end of January. In the former Lua space, Nickie Mydung plans to open another new restaurant Bar Meimei, a dumpling bar and izakaya.

In Oslo, Nud Dudhia (Breddos, Pao, Doug’s, Løkka Deli) is opening another restaurant: Little Wolf. The name has been revealed of Atli Már Yngvason's new restaurant in the old Ling Ling location on Aker Brygge – it will be called Stranden 30. The people from Tilt are taking over the cocktail bar Borrelaas and renaming it Kobra. And the bagel shop boom continues... a new shop Emmas Bagels has just opened in Alexander Kiellands plass.

COPENHAGEN EVENTS

On Friday February 6th, the Copenhagen Hungries are getting a first look at a takeover of Akmē, the new restaurant from Mads Battefeled of Sushi Anaba and chefs Emil Hassan Lyngbæk and Valdemar Junge Norvang. And, of course, there's no winter without a fastelavnsbolle crawl. This annual tradition will take place on Sunday, February 23rd. Sign up on Discord!

OSLO EVENTS

Last week, the Oslo Hungries were lucky guinea pigs and got to test the new menu at Smallhans. At the next event, the Hungries will be the first on the scene at a brand new, highly anticipated restaurant... Want to be the first to know more? Head to the Discord forum!
