Hi
We spent the 17th of May in Norway, which naturally meant that we tested all the new restaurants in Oslo! So, we once again have a completely updated Oslo guide, including all the city's new hotspots like Substans and Stranden 30, as well as some more under-the-radar gems.
We also returned to the west coast of Sweden, so we've updated our Gothenburg guide, and also created a brand new guide to the region of Halland. Some of the country's best restaurants are tucked away in this neck of the woods (literally!) in Sweden. Scroll down to read all the new guides.
RUMORS & FOOD NEWS – JUNE 2025 Here's the latest food news from Copenhagen! We knew summer was here the second we saw Aurora reopened their Kongens Nytorv summer shop in front of Magasin. (It's open until the end of September, and there's a Københavns Bageri stall, too!) Natural wine festival Raw Wine returns to Copenhagen on June 8th. New à la carte restaurant Paula will open in Carlsberg Byen (in the former Studio venue) on June 12th, from chef Stefan Hansen (Kong Hans Kælder, Frederiksminde). Stockholm cookie monster Kaja Hengstenberg of Krümel will host a pop-up at Lido on June 28th and 29th. The Møntergade/Apero team is soon opening a New York-style sports bar, Bar Sportif, on the same street, a two-story venue with beer, cocktails, oysters, and wings – and TVs where you can watch the big game. Finally, 1 Hotel Copenhagen opens soon, and with it a new restaurant, Fjora, from British chef Chantelle Nicholson. Oslo is having a sandwich moment. Spots like Ugly Duckling and Fox and Loaf have taken the city by storm. Haven't tried them yet? You'll get the chance soon if you're a member of The Hungries. (Keep reading!) In sadder news, Hyde has announced that it will close at the end of the year – but we've heard rumors that something exciting is in the works for chef Matthew North. Stay tuned!
Further north in Norway, chef Jimmy Øien (Rest) and Mads Revheim-Skjolden (Hedone) have taken over the kitchen at Gausta Ski & Resort at Gaustablikk in Tinn.
