Our favorite tacos in Los Angeles can be found at Sonoratown in Downtown L.A. This taqueria opened in 2016 in the Fashion District, and within months was already drawing long lines. The secret to their success? Their Sonoran-style flour tortillas made with pork lard and their delicious meat grilled over mesquite wood. You may already have seen them featured on the Netflix show Taco Chronicles, but now you get to come with us behind the scenes to see how these legendary flour tortillas are made. You’ll also get to watch us try their signature dishes, including the tacos, chivichangas, and caramelos. We interviewed founder Jennifer Feltham, who opened the taco shop together with her boyfriend Teo Diaz, who grew up in Sonora, Mexico. Soon, Sonoratown will be expanding and opening a second Los Angeles location later this year.
