Located in Nørrebro in Copenhagen, Gaijin is a casual Japanese restaurant by Edward Lee (previous assistant head chef of Jordnær) and Mads Magnus (previously of Radio, Studio, and Marchal). The restaurant focuses on using whole animals (the best from the land and sea), with a well-curated wine list, and is open for late-night dining on weekends. There is an à la carte menu as well as a chef’s counter with a tasting menu of approximately ten courses. The name “gaijin” is Japanese for “outsider” or “alien.”
