The Italian street food concept, Strutto, started as a lockdown pop-up and then became a food stall at Broens Gadekøkken in April 2021. Now, Luca Donninelli (formerly of Relæ) and his girlfriend Cecilia Aroni (former pastry chef at Hart Bageri) have opened a permanent location of Strutto in the city center of Copenhagen, on Badstuestræde 8. The menu at the new shop expands on the offerings available at the street food market, but still centers around the Italian crescia – a sort of tortilla made with pork lard (hence the name). There is a cheese and charcuterie platter with slices of crescia as well as sandwiches made with the flatbread and Italian fillings like mortadella, stracciatella, and sun-dried tomatoes. They also serve alcohol and coffee.
