Located in the city center of Copenhagen, in the old venue of Geist, Esmée is a casual brasserie from chef Andreas Bagh. The former head chef of Marchal, left his position at Hotel d’Angleterre to join the restaurant group Sovino Brands (Geist, Kanalen, Salon) as co-owner of his own place inspired by La Belle Époque in France. The interior has been completely redone – the rooms have been opened up and made lighter, with lots of green plants throughout the space. There’s still outdoor seating on the street at the front, and the back courtyard has been expanded. The food is rooted in classic French dishes, but with a lighter, and fresher Nordic touch, as is Bagh’s signature. The menu is à la carte, and it’s a place you can drop by for oysters and cocktails as well as for a full meal. At the core of the restaurant is an open kitchen with a rotisserie. There are eight bar seats around the kitchen.
