It’s safe to say that spring is officially here, kicking off the absolute best time to be in Copenhagen. This month, beer week is set to take Denmark’s capital by storm. Plus, there are loads of exciting food events are going down this May! Veatery x The Blank Space – May 4th

Brus’ Birthday Party – May 4th

Another birthday!? Brus turns seven years old on Thursday, May 4th. To celebrate, they’re throwing a party with FREE BEER and cake! There will be a brass band and a DJ to keep the party going. The party starts at 15:00.

Copenhagen Beer Week – May 5th-13th

The annual beer festival returns to Copenhagen, with nine days of beer-focused events, from tap takeovers to long table dinners to beer yoga to beer baths at AIRE spa. Click here to see the full schedule of activities.

Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen – May 5th-6th

The 2023 Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen (MBCC) will take place on Friday May 5th and Saturday May 6th at Øksnehallen in Vesterbro. Guests will get unlimited access to over 200 different beer samples, from breweries all over the world. The events conclude with a grand afterparty on May 6th, with DJs, cocktails, and a dance floor. 3100 x Hverdagen – May 6th

On Saturday, May 6th, Vesterbro restaurant 3100 is having a pop-up in collaboration with Hverdagen. Head to Hverdagen for food, wines from Volatil, and vinyl records spinning. Walk-in only!

BEC x Warpigs – May 7th

Cure your beer week hangover the old-fashioned way – with a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich! BEC is having a pop-up at Warpigs Brewery as the official hangover feast on Sunday, May 7th. Sandwiches will start slinging at 10:00 a.m.

The Housewife Roast – May 10th

The next dinner hosted by The Caribbean Housewife will take place on Wednesday, May 10th, and will be a winemaker dinner with German winemaker Alanna LaGamba. Formel B x Lillero – May 17th

Owners of Michelin-starred restaurant Formel B, Kristian Arpe-Møller and Rune Amgild Jochumsen, are once again moving their restaurant to the Danish beach for a summer holiday. Lille B (Lillero + Formel B) will be a summer pop-up at the Lillero glamping site in Odsherred, Denmark. Food will be served informally, family-style with nine servings to share. Natural, organic wines and classical wines are both available, as well as simple cocktails from the beach bar. Bageriet Benji will also serve pastries. Pop-up runs through the summer.

Vild Vin Festival – May 20th-21st

Vild Vin Festival, a natural wine fair, returns to Copenhagen this May. The festival will take place at Villa Kultur, and will celebrate low intervention winemakers. There will be food pop-ups, concerts, long-table dinners, DJs, and, of course, lots of wine tastings. Click here to buy tickets.

Miku’s Magic Omurice at studio x – May 25th

On May 25th, get a taste of Japanese home-style cooking. Swing by from 18:00 (until sold out) for an omurice (omelette) plate with three side-dishes (carrot kinpira, Japanese-style potato salad, arugula & orange salad), miso soup with wakame and veggies, and black sesame pudding for dessert.

Grønt Marked – May 7th, 14th, and 21st

Copenhagen’s favorite farmers’ market returns officially on Sunday, May 7th on Refshaleøen. From spring until fall, swing by the market next to Lille Bakery on the first Sunday of every month, for organic vegetables, ciders, kombuchas, kimchi, and ferments. The other markets (Vesterbro and Nørrebro) will return on May 14th and 21st, respectively.

Dandelion Burger Pop-Up at Åben Brewery – May 18th-20th, and May 25th-27th

One of our favorite Copenhagen burgers, Dandelion, is having a pop-up at Åben in Kødbyen during the weekends of week 20 and 21. Swing by for burgers and beers.

Suculent Pop-Up at Tivoli – May 1st-May 27th

Restaurant Suculent from Barcelona will be the next pop-up restaurant at the Japanese Tower inside Tivoli. Experience Spanish flavors from chef Antonio Romero here in Copenhagen until the end of the month. Click here to book a table.

The Caribbean Housewife x Kulturtårnet – Every Friday until May 26th

The Caribbean Housewife is returning to Knippelsbro, serving food and natural wine alongside one of the city’s most unique views. Every Friday, from mid-February through May, the Culture tower welcomes guests to The Caribbean Housewife’s second Plantebistro. The plant-based menu includes an amuse bouche and a three-course shared menu featuring organic, seasonal produce. Reffen Food Crawl – May 27th

The Hungries are heading to Reffen, for the ultimate summer food crawl on Saturday, May 27th. On the docket: grilled oysters, Champagne, a beer tasting, and lots more surprises. More information to be announced soon on the Discord forum!

Copenhagen’s Best Smørrebrød Crawl – June 1st

The food crawling continues for the hungriest of Hungries – this time, with a tour of Copenhagen’s best smørrebrød! The tour will begin at Schønnemann, an institution in the city. We’ll start with traditional sandwiches, including herring and eel. The next stop, will be Møntergade, where we will enjoy a slightly more modern take on classic smørrebrød. On the menu: deep-fried plaice with remoulade and roast beef. Our tour will conclude at Selma, where the Danish sandwiches are actually prepared by a Swedish chef. We will end with our all-time favorite smørrebrød: Selma’s famous shrimp sandwich. This tour will be COMPLETELY FREE for members of the Hungries, but spots will be extremely limited. Join the club to join the event.
