The Hungries – Upcoming Events

Join our members-only food club! We have monthly in-person events in Copenhagen and Oslo, as well as meet-ups when we are traveling around the world. VIP members also get discounts and perks at participating Copenhagen restaurants, shops, and hotels! Click here to read more. Here’s what’s coming up for The Hungries this summer…

Lua Takeover – July 2nd

The third in our series of featuring badass women in the biz will be with Nickie Mydung of Lua. For those who joined the fastelavnsboller crawl, her pistachio and yuzu choux pastry was a big crowd-pleaser! Since then, she and her team of amazing ladies have been building an all-day menu – bringing in their various cultures from East Asia to make unique and super tasty food. On Sunday, July 2nd, she will close the restaurant for a private Hungries takeover, serving street food with a Lua twist.

Ice Cream Workshop at Köld – July 22nd

Our next summer event will be an ice cream workshop and all-you-can-eat ice cream party at Köld Ice Cream (our favorite ice cream shop in Malmö). It will be a fun adventure over the bridge together to “greater Copenhagen” – and our first-ever event in Malmö! On Saturday, July 22nd, the founder and legendary ice cream maker of Köld, Peter Svanberg (basically the Willy Wonka of ice cream), will do a workshop for us, showing us how to make one of his signature ice cream flavors! We’ll also get to sample ALL of their ice cream flavors – yes, you heard that right, an all-you-can-lick ice cream party! Some of his crazy ice cream flavors include Salted Caramel with smoked salt, Bloody Hot – blood orange sorbet with mango, chili, and Szechuan pepper, and Den Vita Pandan with pandan, coconut purée, and white vegan chocolate, served with a sauce of passion fruit and mango. Oh, yeah. You’re in for a treat. Only two spots left – grab yours here.

Sunday Church – July 23rd

On Sunday, July 23rd, you’re invited to Sunday Church with The Hungries! Along with the gang from Balderdash (our favorite cocktail bar in Copenhagen), we will be taking a party bus filled with booze to Holy Smoke BBQ in Sweden for the ultimate Sunday Funday. That’s right, it’s a return of one of last year’s most popular events!! Holy Smoke BBQ serves the tastiest barbecue we’ve tried outside of the great U.S. of A. – and you’ll get to be part of a family-style FEAST! We’re talking pulled pork, we’re talking chicken, we’re talking brisket, we’re talking beef ribs, cornbreads, sides, and all the fixings! Bring on the meat sweats! And to keep us hydrated, Balderdash will be slinging cocktails all day long. Want to join us?
