Video: Angelika Geranium's New Plant-Based Restaurant

Restaurant Geranium in Copenhagen is three-Michelin-starred and ranked no. 5 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2019. During the Coronavirus lockdown, chef Rasmus Kofoed was inspired to open a brand new restaurant named after his vegetarian mother. Angelika is located inside the inspiration kitchen (private dining room) of Geranium, and serves a completely plant-based tasting menu inspired by chef Kofoed’s home cooking.

Everything on the table is natural, organic, or biodynamic, from the ingredients to the wines to the napkins. Unlike its fine dining big sister, Angelika is a much more casual culinary experience with comfort food dishes to be shared at the table. Kofoed hopes to inspire his guests to eat more vegetables after showing them just how delicious they can taste. Currently, Angelika is only a pop-up restaurant for the summer of 2020, but Kofoed hopes the restaurant can coexist with Geranium in the future. Maybe one day Angelika will get a space all its own.
