Soon the icy and snowy winter will be behind us, and the sunny days will come. Spring is just around the corner, and Copenhagen will once again be in full bloom! But there’s still some time to appreciate the slow, hygge-filled days before summer goes into full swing. It’s March, and, as usual, there is lots to do in the city. Frederiksminde x Fiskerikajen – March 1st, 7th, and 8th
Chef Jonas Mikkelsen of Michelin-starred restaurant Frederiksminde in Præstø is coming to Copenhagen for a limited pop-up series with Fiskerikajen, at their pop-up space Fiskerizakajaen. Mikkelsen will prepare a vegetable and fish-based bistro menu of five courses, alongside lovely wines. The price is 1000 DKK per person. Limited seats left. Click here to book a table.

Muld x Josephine – March 5th
Chef Michael Craig of Muld restaurant (formerly of Amass and former head baker of Collective Bakery) will be taking over the kitchen at new natural wine bar Josephine in Amager on Sunday, March 5th. Mirabelle Spiseria – March 7th
Chef Christian Puglisi’s restaurant Mirabelle is reopening on Tuesday, March 7th as Mirabelle Spiseria. After operating for ten years as a bakery, now the restaurant will focus on being an all-day Italian eatery and wine bar, with inspiration from Sicily and a focus on organic ingredients. There will be plenty of pasta, Sicilian specialty dishes (granita, arancini, etc.), as well as weekend brunches. There are both à la carte dishes as well as a seven-course tasting menu available. Villette – March 8th
The newest restaurant concept from from Martin Ho and Jesper Emil Norrie (owners of Pompette and Poulette), Villette, is finally set to open on March 8th. The restaurant is located on Fælledvej 12 in Nørrebro, and the head chef is Marissa Lippert from New York City, who previously owned Nourish Kitchen + Table in the West Village. The fare will be similar in style to her previous restaurant – delicious and nutritious, fresh, seasonal food that happens to be healthy-ish. Of course, there will be natural wine, a lot like what you find on the shelves at Pompette.

Bake Sale Fundraiser – March 19th
On Sunday, March 19th, Copenhagen bakers are hosting a bake sale for the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. Swing by Folkets Hus in Nørrebro from 11:00 to buy some pastries and coffee and support a good cause. All of the money raised will be donated to World Central Kitchen to provide meals to those affected by the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.

Restaurant Pony is back! Three generations of Pony chefs (Lars Lundø, Simon Sundby, and Tommi Sasaki Kondo) will cook for three nights at Fiskerizakajaen. Community Dinners at Admiralgade 26 – March 1st, 8th, 22nd, & 29th
Admiralgade 26, the sister restaurant of natural wine bar Ved Stranden 10, is hosting community dinners every Wednesday evening. The theme changes weekly – on March 1st the venue will transform into a movie theater (and serve oysters, Japanese sandos, and noodles), on March 8th there will be beer and food with brewer Anders Kissmeyer, on March 22nd there will be an introduction to Brian Nygaard’s wines (in Danish), and on March 29th there will be a Brazilian feast. The Caribbean Housewife is returning to Knippelsbro, serving food and natural wine alongside one of the city’s most unique views. On every Friday, from mid February through May, the Culture tower welcomes guests to The Caribbean Housewife’s second Plantebistro. Dim Sum Feast – April 1st
Where do you find the best dim sum in Scandinavia? Possibly at Zen Dim Sum, which recently opened in Frederiksberg. This place is approved by several of our Hungry members – want to try it for yourself? Join us for a dumpling feast! Copenhagen Hungries are doing a full takeover of the restaurant for lunch on Saturday, April 1st. Try thirteen different types of dim sum plus a couple surprises.
Dinner at POPL – April 15th
On Saturday, April 15th, the Copenhagen Hungries are heading to POPL, Noma’s burger restaurant, for a specially curated menu. You’ll receive a burger of your choice and a matching wine or non-alcoholic pairing. Kristian Rise, the beverage manager, will personally host us and has promised to pick some really cool wines from their cellar to go with the meal designed specifically for the Hungries. It should be a really great opportunity to experience their new fixed menu since head Chef Toni Toivanen (formerly Noma R&D and Inua) took the reigns.
Wine Tasting with Heinrich – April 27th
Hungries’ favorite wine producer, Heinrich, from Burgenland, Austria, will be in Copenhagen in April to host an exclusive wine tasting for The Hungries. Stay tuned for more info!
